An indoor mural that covers one side of a small reading space at 100th Story Building in Footscray, Melbourne. 100th Story is a place where children come to participate in reading, storytelling, illustration and writing workshops. Their reading room, hidden behind a revolving bookcase, is a space for imagination, peace and daydreaming. My idea for the reading space is to refer to the link between maps and knowledge, and maps as a source of imagination, escape, and creativity, and produce a landscape that leans more to the idea of tapestry than to topography.
