THE FOLDS RESIDENCY

THE FOLDS is a homage to the blankets, sheets and covers that contain, hide and protect ourselves and our material possessions. At Testing Grounds, they are presented as free-standing sculptural forms, that contain nothing and are nothing but themselves. A sculpture of folds, crevices, and protruding elements that hold themselves in place with no hidden support. underneath them. Working on site, an accumulation of collected bed sheets will be formed into a heterogeneous landscape of deposited shapes, rifts, valleys, and vaguely familiar shapes. The process will took place at Testing Grounds for two weeks, allowing the public to witness the growth of the installation and its sedimentation on site.
